Introduction
Tsinghua University (清华大学; THU) is a national public science and engineering university in Beijing, China. The university is affiliated with and funded by the Ministry of Education of China. It is a member of C9 League, Double First Class University Plan, former Project 985, and former Project 211.Tsinghua University's campus is situated in northwest Beijing on the site of the former imperial gardens of the Qing dynasty and is surrounded by a number of historical sites. Currently,
the university has 21 schools and 59 departments with faculties in science, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education and art.[8] In 2023, Tsinghua University has more than 20,000 doctoral students, about 3,800 faculty members, and more than 2,800 postdoctoral fellows. Annual income in 2023 will exceed $6 billion.
The current General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party and paramount leader of China, Xi Jinping, graduated from the school in 1979. The CCP General Secretary and former Paramount Leader of China Hu Jintao also graduated from Tsinghua in 1964.
